Lieutenant Junior Grade Tomozer was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War he was assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard Station, Port Angeles, Washington. On May 27, 1952, he was the co-pilot of a Coast Guard PBM-5G Mariner rescue aircraft making a water takeoff in the Strait of Juan de Fuca (Port Angeles, Washington). Moments after lifting off the water, the aircraft lost power and plunged into the water killing him, two crewmen and an Air Force funeral escort. |
