ABMC unveils new virtual 360s of its overseas military cemeteries
The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) has just unveiled a total of 30 virtual 360 photo experiences of its cemeteries and its four memorials located in the United States, to mark ABMC's centennial.
The project was initiated in 2021 to make these locations more accessible to the general public, and is a unique way to encourage visitation for those traveling abroad and to share ABMC's sites with those who are unable to visit in person.
We encourage students, educators and historians to share and use the virtual 360s as educational tools to continue communicating the stories of America’s war dead, their comrades, and significant details about the campaigns they fought in.
Each 360 presents information about the sites, as well as some of their unique architectural features, combined with splendid high-resolution imagery.
A hundred years after its creation, ABMC remains fully committed to honoring the service, achievements and sacrifice of U.S. service members commemorated at its sites.
Throughout the month of August, ABMC will share on its main social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), images from those virtual 360s in honor of the fallen service members entrusted to our care.
We invite you to join us and share your thoughts about these 360 photographs as well as your experience if you ever visited on of our cemeteries or memorials.
