Sergeant Kellerman was a medic with the Medical Company, 187th Airborne Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was seriously wounded by shrapnel while parachuting near Wonju, South Korea on February 14, 1951 and returned to duty on March 28, 1951. He was Killed in Action while tending his wounded comrades near the Hwachon Reservoir, South Korea on May 23, 1951.
