Private Boughter was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was seriously wounded by the enemy near Yulgak, South Korea on September 24, 1950 and was evacuated to the United States. He died of those wounds on August 30, 1951.
