Manuel Peter Arruda was born in Massachusetts on November 30, 1893. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and promoted to Private First Class with the 3rd Engineers during World War I. After the War he moved to Panama to work for the Panama Canal Company. After retirement, he remained in Panama. He died on December 15, 1956 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
