Two men stand with a box filled with flowers, ready to place them at gravesites.
Local citizens came to Epinal American Cemetery on November 11 to bring flowers to their adopted grave sites. These adopters do not clean the headstones, nor do they maintain the grounds. They are the keepers of history, passing along the memory of the men that gave their lives to liberate Europe. Typically, they bring flowers to the cemetery a few times a year as symbol of their thanks.
