Netherlands American Cemetery observed Dodenherdenking, the Dutch version of Memorial Day, on Sunday, May 4, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. The ceremony observing this Dutch holiday included playing the U.S. and Dutch national anthems, two minutes of silence, “Taps”, and the lowering of the U.S. and Dutch flags, followed by local children folding the flags.
