Normandy American Cemetery is the final resting place to more than 9,000 Americans that gave their lives in World War II.

On December 1, 2018 Normandy American Cemetery will welcome volunteers from Wreaths Across America to lay more than 9,000 wreaths in the cemetery. These balsam wreaths, shipped to France from Maine, serve as a visual tribute to the fallen in the midst of the holiday season. That same day, U.S. Memory Normandy, a French organization, will place LED candles on every headstone in the cemetery for a luminary that evening. Visitors to the cemetery that day will be able to witness, as well as participate in the efforts of an American and French organization coming together to honor our fallen from World War II.
