Private First Class Albert was a member of Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was seriously wounded while fighting the enemy at Hagaru-ri near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea and died of those wounds on December 9, 1950.
