L. E. Aldrich was born in New Hampshire in 1865. He moved to the Canal Zone where he was employed in the Construction Division, Isthmus Canal Company. He died on March 15, 1909 at the Ancon Hospital and buried at the Ancon Cemetery. He was disinterred and cremated in 1915. His remains were kept at the Panama Canal Mortuary. He was reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1981
