Lieutenant Colonel Allee was a member of the 354th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Takhli Air Base, Thailand. On December 21, 1968, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a combat mission over Khammouane Province, Laos. Near Na Phao, about 2 miles southwest of Mu Gia pass, his aircraft was hit by hostile fire, burned and crashed. His remains were recovered on December 23, 1996 and identified on April 3, 1998. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
