For his leadership and valor, Second Lieutenant Allston was awarded the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Second Lieutenant Allston was the pilot of a F-86F Sabre Jet fighter bomber with the 12th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomber Wing. On June 16, 1953, while on a combat mission, his aircraft augured into the ground after completing a bomb run. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on April 13, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
