Private Auman was a member of the 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was seriously wounded in South Korea on September 14, 1950 and returned to duty on September 16, 1950. He was seriously wounded again on September 19, 1950 and died of those wounds on September 21, 1950.
