Mary Ellen Baer was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on December 18, 1879. She moved to the Canal Zone to live. She died on February 28, 1943. She was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
