Sergeant Baermann was a member of the 57th Field Artillery Battalion, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Hagaru, North Korea on December 6, 1950. Sergeant Baermann was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
