Corporal Bagley was a member of the 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 6, 1950 and returned to duty on September 29, 1950. He was Killed in Action while attacking enemy positions on Hill 1039, near Togol, South Korea on April 6, 1951.
