Marvin Banton was born in Waterloo, Iowa on October 16, 1904. He came to the Isthmus and worked as a Hydrographic Engineer and was promoted to the General Supervisor Engineer of the Engineering Division, Panama Canal Company. He died on February 13, 1964, was cremated and buried in a mass grave of 82 remains from Scottish Rite Temple in Panama. His remains were reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in May 2002.
