USNA Class of 1943, Lieutenant Commander Baslee was the pilot of a F9F-2 Panther Jet fighter and the Commanding Officer of Fighter Squadron 52, aboard carrier USS VALLEY FORGE (CV-45). On March 17, 1952, while on a combat air patrol near CU 515520, his aircraft was struck by anti-aircraft fire, crashed and exploded.
