Corporal Bazzell was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Corporal Bazzell was a member of Headquarters Battery, 57th Field Artillery Battalion, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while scouting the enemy about 10 miles north of Hagaru-ni, North Korea on November 30, 1950. His remains were not recovered.
Through the work of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, the remains of Corporal Benjamin Robert Bazzell were accounted for in 2020. His name is permanently inscribed on the “Courts of the Missing” at the Honolulu Memorial.
