Notes
Specialist, Fourth Class Beals was an assistant machine gunner with Company D, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. On July 7, 1970, he was in a firefight in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam near the border of Quang Tri Province to the north. As his unit advanced to a suspected enemy location it was fired on and he was killed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
