For his leadership and valor, Master Sergeant Berry was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Master Sergeant Berry was a member of Headquarters Battery, 57th Field Artillery Battalion, 7th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded and taken Prisoner of War near Hagaru, North on December 6, 1950 and died of those wounds as a prisoner on December 15, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
