Sergeant Major Biggs was a member of Detachment A-411, Company D, 5th Special Forces Group. On January 16, 1968, he was advising a Vietnamese strike force about 16 miles northwest of My Tho, South Vietnam when the force was ambushed. His remains were recovered on April 27, 1989 and identified on January 12, 1990. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
