Corporal Binge was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while defending his position against overwhelming enemy forces at "West Heartbreak Ridge", North Korea on July 15, 1953. He was presumed dead on July 16, 1954. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
