Private First Class Blue was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action on August 31, 1950 while fighting the enemy in Korea and was presumed dead on March 3, 1954. Through the work of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, the remains of Pfc. Willie E. Blue were accounted for in 2017. His name is permanently inscribed in the “Courts of the Missing” at the Honolulu Memorial.
