Sergeant First Class Borja was a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 5th Special Forces Group. On February 21, 1967, his team was operating in Laos near the Laos/South Vietnam border in Saravane Province near the boundary of Savannakhet Province. While trying to assist a wounded team member, he was confronted by an enemy soldier. Each shot the other. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
