Airman Boyd was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Airman Boyd was a member of an U.S. Air Force airlift unit stationed at Tachikawa Air Force Base, Japan. On February 25, 1951, he was the flight engineer of a cargo aircraft on its return flight from Taegu Airfield ( K-2), South Korea to Tachikawa with an intermediate stop at Iwakuni, Japan. The aircraft crashed at Iwakuni, killing all three crew members.
