Corporal Brandt was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Corporal Brandt was a member of the 65th Engineer Combat Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. In Korea, he initially built roads and airfields, but soon had to fight as Infantry to defend the Pusan perimeter. He was seriously wounded while fighting the enemy on September 17, 1950 and died a few hours later.
