Notes
Captain Browning was a member of 2nd Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron. On September 14, 1951, he accompanied a B-26B Invader bomber crew from the 8th Bomber Squadron, 3rd Bomber Group, on a night mission. The aircraft expended its bombs on an enemy rail system near Yangdok, North Korea. Then the pilot directed friendly aircraft fire by using the aircraft's searchlight to illuminate the targets, continuing until the aircraft was shot down by enemy anti-aircraft fire. Captain Browning was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on February 28, 1954. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
