Corporal Buckley was awarded the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Notes

CPL Buckley was a member of A Battery, 15th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. On February 13, 1953, he was declared missing in action after a battle with Chinese forces between Changbon-ni and Hoensong/Wonju, Republic of Korea. He died while a prisoner of war in June 1951. In 1993, the North Korean government turned over commingled remains of unaccounted for U.S. servicemen to include remains reported to have been recovered near the village of Namjong-gu and the Suan POW camp. using modern day forensic science, CPL Buckley's remains were identified in 2015. CPL Buckley is permanently interred at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. CPL Buckley's name is permanently inscribed at the Korean War Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, HI.
