Bernard Burgoon was born in Clarion, Pennsylvania on April 14, 1858. He married Catherine M. Burgoon, in 1889 and lived in Clearfield, Pennsylvania and had four children. They moved to Panama in the early 1900's and lived at Ancon, Canal Zone. He worked as a watch inspector for the Panama Railroad. He died on January 10, 1932 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery near his wife Catherine and son Joseph Bernard Burgoon.
