Notes
Staff Sergeant Burns was a member of the 5th Special Forces Group. On July 31, 1969, he was on a reconnaissance mission just inside Laos due west of Hue. The team came under heavy attack severely wounding Staff Sergeant Burns. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
