Warrant Officer Cackowski was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Notes
Warrant Officer Cackowski was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. In Korea, he was a member of Battery C, 77th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. October 1, 1950, he was sleeping in the battery area near Osan, South Korea, when a hand grenade from an unknown source exploded nearby killing him.
