Officer's Cook Second Class Melquiades Colina was born in the Philippines on December 10, 1900. He immigrated to the United States and became a naturalized citizen. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 4, 1929 and became an Officer's Cook, Second Class. He died while on active duty on March 1, 1933 at San Diego, California. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
