Lieutenant Junior Grade Cook was the pilot of a F4U-5N Corsair Night Fighter with Composite Squadron 3 aboard the aircraft carrier USS PRINCETON (CV-37). On March 9, 1951, while on a combat mission, his aircraft plunged into the sea at Latitude 39° 57' North, Longitude 128° 56' East. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on April 19, 1954. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
