Second Lieutenant Lee Edwin Cook was born in Springfield, Missouri on July 7, 1922. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served as a Second Lieutenant with the 20th Troop Carrier Squadron during World War II. He died while on active duty on March 29, 1944 from an air plane crash at La Joya, Panama and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
