Jose Corco was born in Olot, Spain on October 17, 1865. He married Maria Cros Corco and has a son Miguel Corco. Jose, a professor in Spain, was contracted by the Panamanian Government to organize one of the first government schools in Panama. In 1904 the family moved to Panama where Jose worked developing Panamanian schools. they lived at the Cataract Hotel. He died on November 19, 1933 and is buried at the Corozal American Cemetery near Maria and Miguel.
