Private First Class Craig was a member of Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. On December 2, 1950, he was severely wounded while fighting the enemy at "Heartbreak Ridge", North Korea. As he was being evacuated, his ambulance received a direct mortar hit. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. PFC Craig's remains have been recovered and identified.
