Master Sergeant Davis was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded in North Korea on December 3, 1950 and returned to duty three days later. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Changjin Reservoir, North Korea on December 15, 1950 and died of malnutrition in a prison camp on July 12, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
