For his leadership and valor, Corporal De Nofio was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Corporal De Nofio was a member of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He suffered a gunshot wound to in his leg in South Korea on September 4, 1950 and returned to duty the following day. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy near the Manchurian border of North Korea on November 27, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
