Specialist, Sixth Class DeCaire was a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Transportation Battalion (Seaborne), USNS CORPUS CHRISTI. On November 3, 1971, he accidentally fell off the aircraft flight deck and was lost. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
