Hospital Corpsman Third Class Denton was a member of First Marine Air Wing, U.S. Marine Corps. On October 8, 1963, he was a passenger in a Sikorsky Seahorse Utility Helicopter (UH-34D) searching for downed friendly aircraft. The aircraft crashed 43 miles west of Danang, South Vietnam. His remains were recovered on December 1, 2003 and identified on November 14, 2006. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
