Private First Class Di Salvo was a member of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in Korea on December 1, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 2, 1953. His remains were recovered on September 10, 1954 and identified June 29, 2007. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
