Airman Second Class Dierks was a member of the 605th Tactical Air Control Squadron, 502nd Tactical Air Control Group. He developed hemorrhagic fever and was evacuated to the 48th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) where he died on March 14, 1953.
