Staff Sergeant Dingeldein was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the 33rd Bomb Squadron, 22nd Bomb Group at March Air Force Base, California. He was killed when a B-29 Superfortress crashed in the Atlantic Ocean, minutes after taking off from the Azore Islands.
