Machinist's Mate Third Class Dixon was a member of the Naval Supply Activity, Danang, South Vietnam. On September 28, 1968, he was working on a boat at Cua Viet, South Vietnam that was contaminated with fuel. A spark caused a fire and explosion killing him. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
