Master Sergeant Dunn was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while trying to rescue a wounded comrade by enemy fire near Yonil, South Korea on September 11, 1950.
