Lieutenant Ehrlich, U.S. Naval Reserve, was a member of Fighter Squadron 114, Carrier Air Wing 11 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS KITTY HAWK (CVA-63). On January 19, 1967, he was a crew member of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4B) over South Vietnam when the aircraft crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
