Notes
Sergeant Ellis was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On November 29, 1950, the 23rd Infantry Regiment was covering the Division's withdrawal at the Kujang-dong road junction near Kunu-ri, North Korea. While successfully covering this withdrawal, Sergeant Ellis was listed as Missing in Action. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
