USMA Class of 1946, Captain Ellman was a member of the 83rd Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 4074th Defense Wing at Hamilton Air Force Base. In 1950, he served with the Air Section, 25th Infantry Division. He was killed in an aircraft accident at Paine Air Force Base, Washington on August 28, 1952.
