Master Machinist First Class Edward Wesley Engel was born in South Bend, Indiana on September 12, 1915. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Master Machinist First Class during World War II. He died while on active duty on July 13, 1942. He drowned while swimming at Panama and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
